Learn from the Best Place, It will Always Stay with You!

If the basics of an individual are strong then the world is theirs to conquer. Education is not just the study of academic subjects, but the overall growth of an individual that includes both academics and co-curricular activities. A child’s education forms the basis of his/her future.

Folsom Lake Montessori Academy is based on Montessori principles of developing personalities, that inculcates a system for young children, that seeks to develop the natural interests and instincts rather than levying upon then the formal teaching methods.

The focus is on the overall development of the child and helps them delve in and choose what they want to do.

Folsom Lake is a versatile brand that caters to the following services-
  • Infant Care Program- This program focuses on giving individual care and attention to each child. The main aim is to provide a congenial, happy and a safe environment where learning and growth take place in the most globalized way. The teachers are specialized and address each child’s needs just as it arises.
  • Toddler Care Program- This is a cognitive stage of a child’s growth where toddlers learn to walk, talk and understand things through their bodies and sense organs. Toddlers of this age try to create their own world and their own meaning out of things. These years for kids are a major demarcation for their personality and intellect. The teachers here are responsible for their sensory perception; they teach self-help; work on their language; physical and motor skills; social and emotional growth.
  • Pre-K Program- This program is applicable to kids of 3-4 years of age. At this age, children tend to see things differently and see all the ordinary things as special and interesting. At this stage, the minds start controlling the body and the child starts to adapt to the same. Teaching maths, movable alphabets, acquainting them to numbers, making them explore language, cubes, cylinders and other objects is the aim of the specialised staff of Folsom Lake Montessori Academy.
  • Kindergarten Program- This is a new program that has been started and majorly focuses on mathematics, language, logical reasoning, science programs and Montessori materials. Specialised teachers work towards the advancement of kindergarten students at a higher level.

Various other initiatives are taken to nurture and care for the little kids which makes Folsom Lake Montessori, Sacramento one of the best childcare providers, be it their daycare skills or boosting their reasoning and logistics.

What Can Parents Do to Prepare his Little One to Go to A Preschool?

When a child turns 2 or 3, parents start thinking about sending him to a preschool so that he can learn to adjust to a new environment. They want him to learn all the basic skills that must be needed in a primary school. But it is not easy to convince a kid to go to school as they think that it is a bad place and they will not enjoy it.

There are children who can be easily convinced but there are others who are stubborn and are reluctant to go to school. So, what can parents do to convince such children to the preschools? Here are a few tips that can help you prepare your child to go to a preschool or kindergarten.

  1. The first thing you can do is to have a conversation with your child. Ask him what does he expects at a school, what are the things that scare him, why he is not willing to go to school? When you will ask him these questions he will be able to answer you honestly and this way you will be able to find the ways that can help you to convince him to attend a school.
  2. Take him to the school and introduce him to the teachers or caretakers who are going to attend him. Show him the playground, buses, toys and all the positive things of the school that can allure him to go to school. Tell him about the advantages of attending a school.
  3. Prepare your children to stay away from you for some time. You can ask other members of the family to take him out for a while.  Enroll your child in other activities such as swimming lessons or story time at your local library.  It will help them to listen to and follow the instructions of others. This way he will be able to feel comfortable without you and will make it easy for him to spend most of his hours in the school.
  4. Read him good books about school and tell him stories revolving around the kids going to school. You can tell him how brilliant, brave and good citizen a child becomes after attending a school. You can tell him that by attending school he would be able to make new friends who will play with him.
  5. Go for school shopping, buy him a bag, geometry box, uniform, and toys of his choice. Apart from that prepare him to follow a regular routine. Ask him to wake up early and teach him the steps of getting up, dressed, fed, and out the door. Teach your children to follow the instructions of the teachers.
  6. Explain the time table to your child and tell him that he won’t be far away from you for a long time and he will be back home in only few hours. Give him his favorite snacks and chocolates for a few days until he adjusts to the new environment.

How to Choose the Best Infant Day Care Program in California?

Folsom, California, is no doubt a beautiful place to live in, and its sunny environment and please vegetation are ideal for children to play outside. Memories can be made in the beautiful banks of the lakes, with so many perfect spots for picnics and whatnot. But what can make a life for your children fun when you are away at work when they are not old enough to go to school, and there is no one to take care of them at home?

The obvious answer is to pick a good daycare program where you can leave your children without a worry. It must be somewhere that reassures not just the safety and security of your children, but also fun and engaging activities that will keep your kid active and busy while you are gone. For toddlers, it is paramount that working parents be careful not to waste even a single moment that can go into the growth and development of their ward. Picking the right one is a difficult task as you want the very best for your child. But what exactly do you look for in an infant day care program that makes it the best option?

The infant day care program, to begin with, must seem well thought out, from the very foundation of their establishment to the more minute details like what kind of activities they choose to incorporate in their daily itinerary.

The program should ideally specialize in particular age groups, designing the activities based on what children from various phases of development need. Establishments like the Folsom Lake Montessori Lake Academy take an interest in children from the age of eight weeks to twenty-four months old. Specialization reduces the chance of children being given tasks or activities that they may be incapable of doing or if below the capabilities of their age, both of which can tamper with the child’s temperament.

The way the curriculum is designed also factors in when you are picking the perfect infant day care program – it is better if you choose a place that does not have a strict schedule to which they adhere. Room for improvisation ensures that the activities can vary based on the children who are present on that particular day! Folsom Montessori makes sure that the children are interested in what is being done in the daycare and that the schedule does not get repetitive or dull for the child.

The most important thing is to make sure that your child gets at least a certain degree of individual attention. In a place like Folsom, where many kids will be brought, it may seem difficult for teachers to give special attention to each child. Still, those who are trained in Montessori methods of teaching will know who and when needs some extra attention – this can go a long way in making sure your child is in the safest hands.

5 Tips for Child Security in Day Cares

Child Day Cares are very popular these days as almost majority of the working parents require to keep their kids over there. As there is hardly any other alternative so naturally the parents also hardly think much apart from the overall service provided by the day care. But in this article, I am going to discuss few points which if the parents are bit careful can be of immense help in connection to the safety and security of the kids.

These are as follows:

1. Food safety requirement: Food-borne illnesses can result from improper handling of food. Centers should also be well-versed on proper handling and storage of breast milk and formula for their youngest clients. Parents should check that the facility properly refrigerates all perishable food. If your child has food allergies, ask about what safeguards are in place to prevent accidental cross-contamination. Parents must ask about microwaving policies as kids can get burned easily, so one needs to know what is allowed.
They should also find out about preventative measures, like labeling, so that a child is not accidentally fed another's breast milk or food.

2. Transmission of illness: Day care centers can be germ factories. Providers should have proper cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting policies and practices in place to prevent the transmission of illness. Naturally parents should keep their children up-to-date on immunizations and keep kids home when they are sick. On the contrary providers should make sure the staff and children are current on immunizations. They must ensure the staff regularly washes their hands — before and after handling food, changing diapers, and using the restroom along with making sure that the children wash their hands often.
The providers should also keep diaper changing tables sanitized in addition to keeping facilities, toys and equipment washed and disinfected daily.

3. Improper equipment: The play things and toys of the kids are to be proper all the time or it might lead to serious threats as well. Parents should therefore make sure that the play areas are clean and in good condition. They should also ask to see a provider's inspection reports. On the reverse, providers should discard any toys that are damaged or in non-working order. They should keep track of inventory and stay current on children's product recalls. They should also keep play areas for younger and older children separate and securely gated or fenced. In addition to these the providers should keep play areas free of tripping and choking hazards apart from keeping playground surfaces and equipment in good condition and inspect them often as well.

4. Under-trained staffs: The single best way to improve safety and prevent injury is to have sound health and safety policies that all teachers and caregivers are taught to follow. Parents should talk to the director about the center's employee training policy. They should ask to see copies of the staff's first aid and CPR cards. They should also watch to make sure the staff is following the health and safety rules. Simultaneously, providers should make sure there is a regular training plan for staffs. Staffs should also be trained in pediatric CPR and first-aid. The providers should also ensure that someone is always on duty with CPR and first-aid certification.

5. Inadequate supervision:  This is very dangerous and can lead to different types of fatal problems. Parents should therefore ask about the center's group size and caregiver-to-child ratio. They should also try to find out how teachers transition kids from one area to another. They should also ask about the handling of the name and face checks to make sure everyone is there. Parents should also drop in or volunteer from time-to-time to check out how things are managed. On the other hand, providers should keep a low child-to-adult ratio. Child Care Aware suggests that the caregiver-to-child ratio should be at least 1:3 for infants and young toddlers, 1:6 for older toddlers and 1:9 for preschools.

Keeping all the above-mentioned points in mind one can think of Folsom Lake Montessori Academy (FLMA) which is a quality childcare provider located in Folsom, California, offering Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Kindergarten, and Summer school programs. They are committed to excellence, providing quality education and care for infants, toddlers, and preschool children up to Kindergarten. Things you must know before putting your baby in the infant-care centre

Children are the most beautiful gift of God, made with love, affection and a strong bond. The parents share a deep bond with their children. Whether they get four, fourteen or forty years old, a parent would never stop worrying about his/her child.

But these days, the routines have gone hectic and to earn the living, people even have to compromise with their loved ones as well. For them to make a living and construct a bright future for their baby, they have to work from the first light of day to the time even after the nights. Even after being in this chaotic schedule, they can’t just forget about the little life waiting for them at home.

To fade away your worries and to inculcate good values in your kids, infant child care programs are held. These programs are organized to take care of your babies while you are out for your work. These centres and programs are most of the time certified by the government so that you are assured that your little lives are in the hands of qualified persons and are totally safe being there with them.

Although the trend of the infant care system is increasing day by day, still there are some things which you need to consider before putting your child in the infant daycare program.
Let’s have a look at them.

Isn't infant care like hiring a babysitter at a relatively high cost?
People think that an infant care centre is nothing but a centre charging high prices and doing the common menial jobs or diapering, babysitting and feeding, and have a notion in mind that they are run by naive people.

But, the specialty of infant care programs is that, that all the caretakers are well educated and suited for the profession and everyone has at least 2 years of experience in babysitting or preschooling.
Well, this surely gives peace of mind to the people working to earn the living and have an assurance in mind that their children are taken care of by the best people.

Will my baby get enough attention?
In most of the infant day care programs, every educator takes care of at most 5 children. In some good centres, individualism is given much more importance.
The best part of an infant care program is its dynamic learning environment. Your child will remain entertained with various age-appropriate activities such as songs and stories. It would help in the development of stimulation as well.
Since the children would be learning in groups, their social interaction shall also increase. Some people are worried that their children might start feeling hungry. But do not worry, for almost all infant child care programs have proper schedules for feeding ensuring that a child doesn't starve at all.

When should I start my search for Infant Child Care Centre?
Experts suggest that one should start looking for an infant care centre in the second trimester of pregnancy. With this much time, they can keep a close look at the baby in the womb, predicting his/her behaviour and understanding him/her better.
Look for the most popular infant daycare program in your locality.
